We're making a series of improvements to how clients sign in to the inCase mobile app. These changes give your clients a smoother first-time sign-in, strengthen the security of their accounts, and help you keep visibility of activity on them — all as part of our ongoing security review and security best practice.
These changes go live on 1 July 2026.
What's changing
A simpler first-time sign-in
Setting a password is now part of the welcome email your client receives. They can go straight to creating their password from that email, rather than passing through a separate verification step in the app first. It's one less stage to complete, so clients get into the app more quickly.
A helpful nudge if setup isn't finished
If a client opens the app before they've set their password, they'll now see a clear prompt asking them to check their email and complete the step. They'll also receive a follow-up email with a link to set their password, so no one gets stuck part-way through setup.
Everyone on the latest, most secure version
Clients using an older version of the app will be prompted to update via their app store before they continue. This keeps every user on the most up-to-date and secure version of the app. The prompt looks like this:

What firms need to do
There's no mandatory action required to receive these changes. We'd suggest two things to be aware of:
If you provide your clients with your own guidance or documentation on how to sign in to the app, please review and update it to reflect the simpler sign-in process described above.
The sign-up and verification emails will carry default explanatory text when these changes go live. You can edit this text in your settings afterwards if you'd like to tailor it.
Questions
Will my clients need to do anything differently?
No. Existing clients can continue to sign in as normal. The changes mainly affect the first-time setup experience and ensure everyone stays on the latest app version.
Why are these changes being made?
They form part of our ongoing security review and our commitment to following security best practice, helping to keep your clients' accounts and data well protected.
